Hey, I'm new here, so trying to figure my way around. And also, I'm not sure if this is a firmware problem, but it might as well be.
Anyways, I got my 2nd Generation, 4 gig Rhapsody version Clix in the mail just two days ago. I've heard a lot of positive things about this little device, I was extremely surprised at the size of it and quality- all good things.
But for some reason, I can't sync music to it. I've tried both USB settings, mass media and the other one. I've udated the latest firmware (1.17), tried 1.16 and originally had 1.14.
I can put pictures onto it using the Iriver Plus Three software. But I can't drag and drop ANY files onto the hard drive, even in Mass Media mode. They are all in supported format.
And MP3 music... somehow, I got three songs, all of MP3 format on there, but otherwise it won't sync my music. I'm not even sure how I got the three songs on there. Media Player recognizes the device, but always pops up with a message saying it was unable to sync the files (error C00D1236). I've tried Rhapsody's service, it recognized the device, but that didn't work. Iriver Plus Three didn't recognize the device at all. All of the songs to my knowledge are of the correct format for this device.
Does anybody have ANY advice. I fear I'll have to send back this device, and get a replacement, or just stick with my former MP3 player.
Won't sync MP3 files from Iriver Plus Three, Rhapsody Trial service, or Windows Media Player (11).
Won't allow me to drag and drop files
-Updated to the latest firmware
-Formatted the device, once without the latest firmware and a second time installing the latest firmware
-Tried converting it back to it's normal version, from Rhapsody using instructions from Irivers site.
-Changing the computers formats to support the device, and poking around here and there to see if there were any software conflicts.
Update: Windows Media Player recognizes the device by name, but with no display picture. From time to time, it will display a picture of the Iriver Clix. Although it's shown on the screen, when I go to sync my music to the Clix, it sends me the forementioned error. I found out that Windows Media Player does not detect the device, when I follow the internet link (Microsoft Windows Media - Web Help
. Even with this error message, the Iriver Clix still shows up in the corner of WMP screen, as it should, and the media player says the USB is connected and shows it is receiving some sort of signal when I try to transfer files.
