A play-lock mode, meaning that it would be possible to limit the function of the D-click only to the four basic playing bottoms. I think this will be very useful. In this way you avoid getting lost between the different menus when you just want to skip a track.... And you can use it safely without the physical lock even when it is inside your pocket.....

Well I hope that they will fix the 'playback speed' in the next firmware release. In previous iRiver products this was a very great feature but in the Clix2 if you active this feature the music sounds like crap. The function speeds up the music way too much, speed 1 is the same as the maximum in other iRiver products.

Would like to be able to display radio statio names on the clix2. Can't do this at the moment although I would guess that it's a pretty easy firmware/iRiver plus3 fix.

Totally agree firestarter. It feels like a downgrade from my Clix1. Along with being too fast, you cant apply the SRS when the playspeed is adjusted. I really hope this is fixed soon.

ID3v2.4 tag reading. Unicode enabled. I tag all my files in that mode exclusively and Clix reads only ID3v1.1, ID3v2.1, 2.2 and 2.3.

My biggest disappointment over my old Cowon U2:
1) There's audible noise/hiss with any EQ setting other than normal; easy to hear on quiet tracks with voice. My old Cowon shines in this area.
Other minor issues:
2) Playback doesn't automatically resume when I power up the device.
3) No beep at the end of playlist.
4) Sometimes the WMA track skips at the beginning.
5) The Up/Down buttons are reversed.
6) Playlist / Now Playing disappears after connecting the player to the PC (MTP mode). What's up with that?
7) Gapless playback (the Cowon did not have this feature either).
I'm beginning to regret switching from Cowon and I'm anxiously waiting to see if iriver will fix any of these issues through firmware upgrades.

For 4), it is most likely a problem on your player or the WMA. If it is than a format / re-rip can easily fit it.
For 5), what do you mean by 'reversed'?
For 7), iriver never support gapless playback on all their DAP. Although we can hope they will add the support, the chances is slim.

For 4) I can rewind the file and it plays okay; the file is not corrupt. Likely a streaming issue on the player when starting a new song.
For 5) I mean that the left button is Volume Up and right button is Volume Down. Most other players use the left button for Volume Down. Not a big issue, I will probably get used to it... eventually.
For 7) Too bad if it's a hardware limitation.

4) Most of my files are in WMA VBR, but I never seem to have any skipping problem at all.
5) Think of it this way: If you are using your clix2 in portrait mode, and it was designed as [Left: -]/[Right:+], than you will have to press down (since you are in portrait mode now) to increase the volume and up for decrease volume, right? They are not reversed, just designed as such.
7) It isn't a hardware limitation, but software. Don't ask me why iriver never do it, cause I don't know.

Does anyone know of a good Word document to PDF converter? I want to share the draft so you guys and the new owners come Christmas day can have input before making and uploading the final draft on New Years.

Dunno any >good<, because usually >good< means >you need to pay for it<, but I just googled and got
PDFCreator
SourceForge.net: PDFCreator
" PDFCreator easily creates PDFs from any Windows program. Use it like a printer in Word, StarCalc or any other Windows application."
If I remember, I used it a few times, it was kinda easy-to-use and quick, not many configuration options, though, as it just "prints" pages to pdf, but I think you could select quality etc.

Woot! Thanks so much for that, I tried every other program (PrimoPDF and Adobe Acrobat) and they just didn't seem to work.
Firmware Requests for iriver clix2
Remember, that's not the final draft. The final draft will be made available on New Years Day and without the bold watermark that says DRAFT.

-about the second thing, deleting files - you CAN delete a file when you STOP the music, so there should be only info about deleting folders actually
-music, second::should be specified as "power off instead of sleep"
-music, third::should rather be about equalizer working when speeding up/down the music... I guess
-music,fifth::"and use cover art already in the tags" - it supports that in UMS
-other, third - I don't like this idea, it's very useful [for me]
rest is okay, I think ;]

The delete all filetypes applies to the flash stuff, but I said all filetypes in hopes playlists and future filetypes get added.
I don't understand your second request for music.
How is not having the volume controls locked when on hold useful if you look below that you will see a request for volume leveling so you don't have to adjust the volume everytime.

Ah, well, maybe that's because i was using leather case, maybe in silicone case the volume keys get crazy sometimes, dunno ;] But, anyway, I think there should be an option to choose in menus, I mean wheather you want to lock volume keys or not, not a permanent change ...
about the second... well, this only happens when "power off mode" is set to "power off", so I guess that should be pointed out, as they might think they already did it ["sleep"] ;]
